How Property Meld Masters Maintenance Communication

At Property Meld, we understand how important effective communication is to the success of your maintenance strategy.

A maintenance process without strong communication is akin to pulling the bottom block in Jenga – everything crashes down.

However, sometimes, superior communication comes with many notifications, causing an information overload, and crucial information can get lost.

At Property Meld, we value customer feedback above all else, and our product team noticed an influx of feedback related to the amount of notifications received from Property Meld.

To ensure crucial communications weren’t lost, and team members weren’t bogged down with messages, we created new tooling that allows Property Meld users to customize their notifications.

Watchlist

Get notifications for only the Melds you want to follow and mute the rest.

The Meld Watchlist allows internal users to “watch” specific Melds and only receive notifications for Melds they are watching. Managers can add or remove users from the Watchlist or build Workflows to automatically add particular users to Melds within a specific work category or property group.

This allows managers to watch Melds in different property groups if someone is out of the office, or accountants can only watch vendor Melds with invoices submitted.

With the Meld Watchlist, you can customize the messaging you receive without missing out on vital information.

Chat Mentions

Alongside the Watchlist, the product team at Meld has also created a chat mentions feature. This feature allows you to loop internal users into specific melds by tagging them.

This tool is helpful if you need to relay information to a manager or a coordinator not assigned to the Meld. If you mention a user on a Meld, even if they are not a watcher, they can still view the chat.

Many times, maintenance directors or coordinators may not be watching every Meld but need to be looped in to de-escalate a situation or understand why a repair may be taking longer than expected. The mentions feature allows these crucial members to be looped in the conversation without opening the notification floodgates.

Tracked Response Times

Many property management companies think they have good communication. But communication is more than just sending and receiving messages.

Property Meld users can track the volume and speed of responses from techs, vendors, and coordinators to ensure their staff replies promptly.

This tracking allows you to monitor how well your team is communicating and make any necessary changes.

Our Insights Pro dashboard allows you to track communication response times. For more information on the data available to Insights Pro users, check out this page.
